Title: Energy Intake and Redistribution in Stress-challenged Laying Hens

 

 

Biography
 
Dr. Hai Lin is professor in the Department of Animal Science, Shandong Agricultural University. He is the post scientist of China Agriculture Research System and the Dean of Shandong Key Lab of Animal Bioengineering and Disease Prevention. He holds a Ph. D. in Animal Nutrition and Feed Science from Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences, and a M. S. in Animal Nutrition from Shandong Agricultural University. He was a postdoc at Kathelic University Leuven.
 
Dr. Lin's research interests are in nutritional and stress physiology of chicken and the interaction between environment and nutrition. His work has provided new sights on the physiological basis for stress responses such as the energy intake and appetite regulation of broilers, energy redistribution among skeletal muscle and adipose tissues, and lipid metabolism and laying performance of hens. The current topics of his study focus on the regulatory signal pathway in nutrient metabolism, the environmental physiology of poultry, and the nutritional evaluation of feedstuffs.
